Devotional Songs by George Harrison

George wrote many devotional songs over the course of his musical career, from 'Something', 'My Sweet Lord' and 'Awaiting On You All', to his final recordings for the album 'Brainwashed'; "God, God God, Your nature is eternity, God God God, You are Existence, Knowledge, Bliss."  What follows is a small selection of devotional songs written and performed by George:

 My Sweet Lord ~  "I really want to see you Lord, but it takes so long- My Lord - Hare Krsna!." All Things Must Pass 1970 

My Sweet Lord (2000) ~  "You know, many people have written to me over the years saying, thanks for doing that song because that helped to do this, or go join the Krishnas or whatever. So (I thought) I'll see if there's a reason to reinvent the song a little bit." ~ George. Reworking of the 1970 hit with new vocals from George and Sam Brown. ATMP Reissue 2001

Beware Of Darkness ~ A song about maya, the illusory energy of the Lord that causes living entities to forget their spiritual nature and God.  Maya literally means illusion; that which is not. " All Things Must Pass 1970
